Service Night: Operation Hometown Gratitude
Church of the Resurrection will be hosting our 2019 packing party for Operation Hometown Gratitude on Sunday, February 10th.
WHAT: Operation Hometown Gratitude is a Rochester Public Schools program that supports our local troops who have been deployed. Supplies are collected and sent to our troops, along with letters and thank-you cards. The group is primarily led by student volunteers.
WHY: To show our gratitude and support to our troops
WHEN: Sunday, February 10th, 4:30-5:30pm
(pizza served after the boxes are packed)

COLLECTION BOXES: In Gathering Space through May 6th
HELP NEEDED: We need donations (see list of the most requested items on the other side & a more detailed list at our collection site), monetary donations for shipping costs & your time to pack boxes and write letters on Sunday, February 10th, 4:30-5:30pm.

The following are some items we can start collecting during the month of January:
MOST REQUESTED ITEMS: High energy foods (granola & power bars, snack mix, peanuts & beef jerky), 5 Hour Energy shooters, and plain white socks
ALSO REQUESTED ITEMS: non-perishable snacks, instant drink mixes (crystal light, coffee, hot chocolate), gum, hard candy (no chocolate), AA batteries, DVDs, CDs,
ear buds, magazines, chapstick, Q-tips, razors, powder laundry detergent, baby wipes, shaving cream, mouthwash, body wash
OPTIONAL ITEMS: Mac & Cheese (microwavable), cup or ramen noodles, sunscreen, toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, deodorant, books, magazines,
plastic containers of home baked cookies (we welcome books and magazine for both men and women)
- For teachers, consider writing letters as a class projects from pre-school to high school age students.
