Liturgical Ministry

The liturgy is the summit toward which the activity of the Church is directed; at the same time, it is the font from which all Her powers flow. In the liturgy, there are many opportunities for one to serve God’s people. Members of the Liturgical Ministries provide hospitality, and also assist the priest and the assembly in the celebration of the Eucharist. They are supported in their ministry with annual gatherings for spiritual enrichment and workshops.

Weekend Liturgies

Altar Servers

Altar Servers assist the Priests in several ways during the Mass.
This is a wonderful way for young people to affirm knowledge of the
liturgy and take a more active role in the Mass.

Altar Servers must be in 3rd Grade or over and have made their First Communion.

Greeters

While this Liturgical Ministry does not take place during the Mass itself, the Greeter welcomes each and every person who is about to encounter Jesus in the Eucharist.

Greeters over the age of 18 are required to complete VIRTUS Training.

preparation in conjunction with Father and the other Liturgical Ministers.
Although often “unseen,” the duties of a Sacristan do not go unnoticed.
