Confirmation is the Sacrament in which one is enriched by the gift of the Holy Spirit and bound more perfectly to the Church. Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it strengthens us and obliges us to be witnesses to Christ by word and deed and to spread and defend the faith.
This is a two year program usually started in 9th grade. Candidates must be in 9th grade or 14 years of age or older to enroll. All candidates must provide proof of baptism or reception into full communion with the Catholic Church. Preparation includes small group faith sharing, retreats, service projects, parish participation, choosing a sponsor and a Confirmation name. Candidates who do not attend Catholic school are required to attend the 9th and 10th grade Wednesday Faith Formation Classes.
Enrollment is in Sept. of the 9th grade year. Faith sharing groups are formed in January and use the “YDisciple” program from the Augustine Institute. YDisciple is a small group discipleship program where teens invest in one another and become inspired to know and live for Christ.
