Resurrection’s outreach ministry provides many opportunities to have hands-on involvement in programs that provide for the needs of our neighbors. Practicing our faith is essential to being a person of faith. Virtus training required.

In partnership with Channel One and Ben Franklin School, pack food bags for children in need.

Transport/pack restaurant food for distribution at Bethel Church on first Monday of each month.

Provides supper meal and hospitality once a month at the Dorothy Day House, always on the second Saturday of the month.

FAMILY PROMISE (IHN)

Assists with providing food items/eating with families/ helping with homework/or providing night security as families seek jobs and/or a place to live.

CITY SUNDAY LUNCH PROGRAM

Help prepare and serve a Sunday noon meal and provide hospitality for those in need. Resurrection hosts meal every sixth week, located in the St. Francis cafeteria. 10:30—1 pm. Other volunteer opportunities during Holiday weekends.

MISSION TRIP

Volunteer to participate on a work trip. In the past, we’ve gone to the Piarist School in Martin, Kentucky, but destination may vary. Youth through adults may participate, minimum age of 14 (12 if parents are participating.)

RED CROSS SHELTER TEAM

Volunteer to participate on the Resurrection Shelter Team which involves training through the American Red Cross and quarterly meetings and an annual drill. Team will assist on site when the American Red Cross calls us into action due to local disasters.

ST. JAMES COFFEE VOLUNTEER

A space for non-Catholics and Catholics alike to come to know Christ and His Church. St. James Coffee is an apostolate of Rochester area Catholics. Parish volunteers assist in serving coffee and food items and provide hospitality.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization that helps the poor and those with temporary needs. It is not a social service agency. The Society is a person-to-person Christian ministry that sees the face of Christ in the faces of those who are suffering.
